Ecommerce SEO agency measured on orders

Category pages, product data and filters in order, in Shopify, WooCommerce or a custom build. Measured on your shop’s revenue, not on a click.

Why Stijgt

SEO for ecommerce that is judged on orders

An online shop does not win with a blog, but with category pages that answer a buyer’s search exactly. For Tavellio, a Shopify store selling rechargeable designer lamps in six countries, we rebuilt two core collections. Within six weeks those collections received 5.7 times as many clicks from Google and 7 times as much organic revenue.

Along the way it turned out that Google Analytics was missing more than half of the traffic. That is why we measure on the shop’s own figures, so you can see which category and which country really bring in revenue.

We do the same for Baxhout, a timber merchant with a full online shop for consumers and businesses, and for Decofleur, a B2B wholesaler in dried flowers that sells in four languages.

What we do for online shops

  • Keyword research per category, product and country
  • Category and collection pages with their own copy, titles and internal links
  • Product data and structured data for price, stock and reviews
  • Canonicals, filters and faceted navigation in order, without duplicate pages
  • Hreflang and keyword choice per country for international shops
  • Link building to the categories that make money
  • Measurement on the revenue from your shop itself, not only on GA4
  • Visible in ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews with GEO

What makes ecommerce different

Six things ecommerce SEO comes down to

An online shop is not a company website with ten pages. Treat SEO for ecommerce as if it were a matter of a few texts and you leave the biggest opportunities untouched.

  • 01

Category pages do the heavy lifting

People search for “rechargeable table lamp”, not for your product name. That search should land on a category or collection page with its own copy, title and internal links. In many shops it is a bare list of products.

  • 02

Product data decides what Google shows

Price, stock, reviews and delivery time appear in Google from your structured data. If it is missing or wrong, Google drops the rich results and the click goes to a competitor.

  • 03

Filters create thousands of duplicate pages

Every combination of colour, size and price produces its own URL. Without clear canonicals and rules for which filters are indexed and which are not, Google wastes its time on pages that bring in nothing.

  • 04

Pages that get in each other’s way

A category, a blog post and a landing page about the same subject fight over the same position. Google then chooses for itself, and often chooses wrong. One subject belongs on one strong page.

  • 05

    Every country searches differently

In Germany people search for “Akku Tischleuchte”, in France for “sans fil”. A translated shop with literally translated keywords and incorrect hreflang tags is not found abroad.

  • 06

Google Analytics misses part of your revenue

Because of cookie banners and ad blockers, GA4 does not see a sizeable share of the traffic and the orders. Anyone steering on that underestimates SEO. That is why we measure on the shop’s own figures.

Who it is for

For every online shop that wants more from Google

Whether you sell lamps, clothing or timber, the pattern is the same. Lots of pages, filters and product data, and buyers who search by category, feature and country.

  • Lifestyle and interior shops
  • Fashion and accessories
  • B2B shops and wholesalers
  • International shops with several countries and languages
  • Shops with thousands of products
  • Shopify and WooCommerce stores

Our approach

How we tackle SEO for your shop

  • 01

    Baseline

We map which keywords you are found for now, which categories make money, where pages cannibalise each other and what competitors do better. We also check whether your measurement is correct.

  • 02

    Priorities per category and country

Together we choose which categories, products and markets come first. We attach keywords, pages and links to them, in the order that produces revenue fastest.

  • 03

    Implementation in your shop platform

We adjust copy, titles, structured data, canonicals and filters directly in Shopify, WooCommerce or your custom shop. Accelerated with AI, checked by a strategist.

  • 04

    Adjusting on revenue

Every week we look at positions, clicks and orders per category. What brings in revenue gets more attention and links; what does not work, we change.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about ecommerce SEO

What exactly is ecommerce SEO?

Ecommerce SEO is making sure your category and product pages are found for what people type into Google, and that those visitors go on to order. The difference from SEO for an ordinary website is the scale: hundreds or thousands of pages, filters, stock that changes and product data that Google needs to be able to read.

Do you work with Shopify and WooCommerce?

Yes. We work in Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress and custom platforms. Each platform has its own quirks, such as Shopify’s collection URLs or the category structure of WooCommerce. We adjust copy, titles, structured data and canonicals directly in your platform, so you do not have to worry about it.

Where do you start with SEO for a shop with thousands of products?

With the categories, not the products. A good category page captures the searches for dozens of products at once. After that come the products with the most revenue and the product data that applies to all pages. That way you see results quickly without having to rewrite every product separately.

How quickly will I see results from ecommerce SEO?

That depends on your starting point. At Tavellio the positions of the two most important collections rose within six weeks from an average of 10.7 to 3.6 and from 8.3 to 3.1, because the foundations were already in place and the pages mainly needed to be set up better. For a shop that is hardly found at all, it takes several months before the revenue from SEO really counts.

Does ecommerce SEO also work abroad?

Yes, if you choose the right keyword for each country. For Tavellio we work in six markets (the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, the United Kingdom and the United States) and found that Germans search for “Akku Tischleuchte” and the French for “sans fil”. On top of that, hreflang tags and the country versions of your shop must be technically correct, otherwise Google shows the wrong version.

How do you measure what SEO brings in for my shop?

On the revenue from your shop itself. At Tavellio, Google Analytics turned out to be missing more than half of the traffic, which made SEO look far less effective than it was. That is why we link positions and clicks from Search Console to the orders in your shop platform, per category.

Do I need to advertise as well as do SEO?

You do not have to, but the two often work well together. Google Ads and Shopping bring immediate traffic for categories where SEO still has to grow, and the search terms from Ads show where new SEO opportunities lie. For Google Ads we recommend a budget of at least € 500 per month.

Do you also work for my competitors?

No. We work for at most one client within the same industry and region. What we research and build for your shop, we do not use for a direct competitor.

What does SEO for an online shop cost?

You pay a one-off set-up fee and then a fixed amount per month, which you can cancel monthly. The amount depends on the number of categories and countries and the state of your shop. In a free intro call we give an honest estimate for your situation.
